Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge 146 on Thursday!!!

Hi everyone,

I have had a chance to make a couple more cards today - just because I can and not for any other reason. I love that!!!

Anyway I thought I might use the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge.

It is sometimes good to step outside of your comfort zone and use colours that you don't normally use. Here I have used three of our colours that will be retiring come September Ruby Red, Summer Sun and Cameo Coral.

The ribbon on the bottom is White Taffeta ribbon that I have dyed using a dauber and my Summer Sun Ink Pad. How cool is that. It means that you can have any ribbon to match .You just have to wait until it dries before using it which can take a bit of time. I actually used my heat tool and it dried quite quickly and didn't burn. I suggest if you are going to do that then don't hold the heat tool too close or you might end up regretting it.

Materials Used: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Short and Sweet
Paper: Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Whisper White
Ink: Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Cameo Coral
Other: Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals, White Taffeta Ribbon dyed using Summer Sun, Yellow Rhinestone Brade from Circle Fire Brad set.

My second card is basically the same just using colours that I am more comfortable with.

It is a little more busy than I am used to - but it felt great to do something that is not normal.

Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Short and Sweet
Card: Lovely Lilac (will be retiring come September), Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Lovley Lilac, Almost Amethyst (will be retiring come September), Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink.
Other: Eyelet Border Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Certainly Celery Ribbon from Ribbon Bundle in 2009.

'Til next time,

Juliette

I love them both but especially the first one. Those aren't colors I've used much either but they work beautifully together. Thanks for playing along.

Both cards are great, and I love the summery feel of the first one, but of course I'm partial to the second one because I love everything in the Soft Subtles family :) Thanks for the inspiration!
