Clean and Simple - Simply Said

Hi everyone,

Been very slack on updating my Blog recently. I have been busy working on projects but for future events so I can't post them at the moment. I did however have time to stamp something just because I could. I used the Clean & Simple FTL96 for this one. Although I have to say I think most of my creations are pretty much like this layout anyway.

Here is the layout.

The idea is to use either DSP or stamp your own DSP. As I have mentioned before I have an issue cutting up DSP (although I seem to be handling it better these days!!!), so I thought I would make my own.

Here is my card
I have stamped off the solid flowers so they are lighter in colour which then meant I could use the same ink pad for the dotted flowers.

The sentiment is from the Hostess Level 1 set Live like you Mean it.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Simply Said, Live Like you Mean It (Hostess Level 1)
Ink: Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry
Other: Rich Razzleberry 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Large Rhinestone Brad.

All in all a very basic and simple card but I like it.

Look what I got!!!

Hi everyone,

Been a bit slack updating recently - no real excuse apart from lack of time. I want to show you what I got from my fabulous ESAD Secret Sister - Jenn Roberts (click on her name to go to her blog). Now I had no idea that my SS was Jenn and I have to say how very lucky I have been having her as my SS. All the gifts and cards that I have received from her have been fabulous.

This was my reveal gift.

Looks pretty impressive from the front - but wait until you see what it actually is...

Yes it is a card holder!!! Absolutely fabulous!!! I have been wanting to make one of these for ages but have not had the time too. Jenn has used the lovely Raspberry Tart DSP which I so love. Look she has even made some paper beads for the ribbon!!!

Jenn also sent me some Pendant Notes (from the Autumn/Winter Mini) that will be used very soon, along with some Fresh notes in the main catalogue, and some lovely watercolour paper. Now I have no excuse but to get out my aqua painter and have some fun!!!

Please go and check out Jenn's blog and tell her how clever she is.

Enjoy Every Moment

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is well. I am recovering after a busy weekend for DD4's Birthday. We had the family over for her birthday yesterday and then after they left I had to make 36 cup cakes for pre-school. I have to say I really hope I don't see another cup cake for ages!!!

On Mondays when the two girls are at school and pre-school I get the chance to have a play. Now I thought I would show you something with the stamp set Enjoy Every Moment. This set is one of the sets that is on special this week through the Deals of the Week (click on the link to see all of the stamp sets on special). Another little Bag this time for a ESAD 3D challenge

Hi everyone,

I haven't had time to do much creating for me just recently. It is my DD (nearly)4's Birthday on Monday and we are having the family around for lunch on Sunday. Every year I put together a photo album for the girls to show them what they have done in the year. Silly me has left this until this week to try and put it together. Now I don't scrap very much so their albums are basically just the photo's, dates and a description of what we were doing for that photo to be taken. Now because I always leave it to the last minute I find myself very rushed. I have also discovered this time what stamp sets I really would have liked to incorporate on the pages - so I have spent the last couple of days pulling out the stamp sets and then saying no I don't have time for this. I really must be better organised next time and not leave 12 months of work to one week.

Anyway enough of my rambling.  I would like to show you a little bag I made for the 3D challenge this week over on ESAD (if you are a demo in NZ or Aus you really should pop on over and join us). This week was to use a Makeesha Byl bag tutorial and mix it up a little. Well I haven't mixed mine up too much, added the top note dies for decoration, the eyelet border punch for the handle and to make the 'flower' on the front. I found inspiration for some of my extras from cleaver demos like Andrea Buckland, Danielle Dawes (click on the links and check out their blogs they are fabulous).

This is the front view.

A side on view to show you the flowers on the handle.

What do you think? Do you like? I think I do.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Paper: Sweet Always DSP, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Regal Rose (used on the flowers)
Other: Silver Brads, Small Rhinestone Brads, Pewter Build A Brad, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Crimper, Eyelet Boarder Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch

Raspberry Tart - and not the food variety

Hi everyone,

Well I have to say I have enjoyed 'blurfing' and seeing so many new items using the DSP that is currently on sale (but only until 11.50pm 15th June 2010). I too have decided to show case one of the DSP's and this time Raspberry Tart.

I found this cute bag on a blog called I stamp, I sew. Laura Lin has included measurements so you can have a go at making one yourself. (Amended to include an additional source which is Andrea Walford)

Here is my version.

It is a lot bigger than you think (definitely bigger than a normal box in a bag), and I have a feeling I will be making a lot to put Christmas presents in.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: None
Paper: Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: None.
Other: Big Shot, Top Note Die,  Pewter Build a Brad, Crop-a-dile, Pewter Jumbo Brads, Rose Red Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.

Now I will be placing an order tomorrow for some of  this weeks Deals of the Week. If you would like to order some contact me no later than 9.00pm (15th June 2010). This is really a great deal to be getting up to 40% of some of your favorite DSP.

Paper Beads

Hi everyone,

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend. Today I have friend coming over for lunch. We lived next to each other from the age of 13 until I got married. Melissa was one of my bridesmaids - but as sometimes happens you get too busy with your own lives and lose touch with each other. Well thanks to some Social Networking site, we touched base again a couple of years ago. Melissa now lives in the UK and is happily married with two young boys (about the same age as my girls). She is over here on a holiday and I got to see her again on Wednesday when I took my two munchkins up to the Blue Mountains to see her. It was fantastic as it has been 18 years since I last saw her.

Anyway I thought I would show you a little something I have made for her. I have been wanting to try and make these paper beads for ages and I can't believe how easy they are. I made them into a pair of earrings.

How cool are they? I have used the Bella Blue DSP for them.

Anyone for Tea Party? - Designer Paper That is!!!

Hi everyone,

I thought I would post some of the items that I sent to my ESAD Secret Sister Jennie Cass. Now I can't find a blog for her but I have located her Stampin' Up! website (www.jenniecass.stampinup.net), if you are in the Madeley Region (near Freemantle) in WA then look her up and book her for a workshop - you will have a blast I promise!!!

These images are from her May present (note she didn't get them until yesterday), but I thought I would show them to you as they use the Tea Party DSP that is currently on sale this week (instead of $16.95 it is now $10.17).

Firstly I made her a Top Note box and filled them with Ferrero Rocher

I also made her a little box that I put a tub of Flower Brads into.

I also did an altered metal DVD tin and made some cards to go in it.

Now I teamed the Tea Party DSP with the stamp set 'One of a Kind', used the matching colours, Almost Ameythist, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron.

There were a couple of othe items I sent as well but the images didn't come out too well.

Petal Pizzazz - meets Baroque Motifs

Hi everyone,

I have finally managed to finish this card (just as well as it forms part of my technique class for this month!!!)

I have been playing around with the Emerging Colour technique and really wanted to do the same card as Marelle had (I had been playing around with the Medallion but when I saw her blog post I thought I had better do something else). Anyhow this is what I came up with. I have to say Petal Pizzazz is a good one for this technique and it is not a stamp set that I have played with alot - yet another one of those must haves but seldom used ones!!!

Here I have used the lovely Rich Razzlberry and teamed it with Pretty in Pink - those colours go lovely together. What do you think?

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Baroque Motifs, Sweet Little Sentiments (Level 1 hostess)
Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Versamark
Other: Brayer, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch

Clean and Simple - Asian Artistry

Hi everyone,

I finally sat down and did some stamping for me for a change - just because I could!!!

I decided to use Asian Artistry a Level 2 hostess set currently available in our Autumn/Winter Mini - that I finally got last week. I have been wanting it for ages but never seem to place an order that is big enough to get it (well not all in one go!!).

It thought I would have a go at the Clean & Simple sketch challenge (check out their blog for heaps more challenges).

Here is a picture of the challenge.

And here is my take on it.

A very simple yet effective card I think. To get the two colours onto the stamp I just used my sponge daubers to ink the stamp - how cool is that?

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Asian Artistry
Paper: Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Ink: Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Versamark
Other: Wide Oval Punch, Antique Brass brads, Dimensionals.

Now to quote Kerry Bunting you should never stop at one card (especially when you have everything out on the desk anyway) so I have made another card - just using a different stamp from the Set.

I thought I would highlight some of the 'flowers' and used the spotlight technique to do so.

Materals Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Asian Artistry, Best Yet
Paper: Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Ink: Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Versamark
Other: 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Hemp Twine

Anyway I hope you all have a lovely rest of the weekend.

'Til next,

Juliette

Another Medallion Candle and Thankyou card

Hi everyone,

Here is a little card and candle that I managed to find time to do this last week. Despite the horrible weather we have had here I have had little time to get creative.

I made this card for a dear friend of mine. When ever you speak to her she just makes you feel so much better about yourself. She has just finished college and will become a counsellor and I have to say what a perfect profession for her to go into.

The card is a direct case from the Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue. I purchased the Embosslet Die Thanks and finally had a play. Such a simple and easy card - but nice even if I say so myself. The card is a simple 3" X 3" one - just perfect for this type of thing.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: None
Paper: Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery
Ink: None
Other: Dimensionals, Big Shot, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Thanks Embosslets Die, Silver Brad (to attach to the ribbon).

Here is the candle that I 'stamped' for her as well. She likes candles and actually uses them - this one has a lovely french vanilla fragrance.

Don't you just love the Medallion Stamp - so many uses on so many different mediums!!

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Medallion
Paper: None
Ink: Rose Red
Other: Heat tool, Rose Red Ribbon

Whoooo's 2?

Hi everyone,

I have a cute little card to show you today. My friends daughter Cameron turned 2 last week (it is thanks to Cameron that we became friends!!!), and this is the card that I made her. Unfortunately she hasn't received it yet but at least her Mum, Sam has seen it so it is OK to show you.

I made a cute suspension card using the owl from Fox and Friends. Now the Cheeky Monkey is more Cameron's style but doesn't quite go with the Who's 2 idea.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up! apart from the dental floss
Stamps: Fox and Friends
Paper: Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red
Other: Big Shot, Sizzix Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Set, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Corner Rounder, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch

How lucky am I?

Hi everyone,

I just want to show you what I received from ESAD Secret Sister. Now my SS has been really busy with renovations and so has not had a lot of time to sit down and do what we all love to do. She has however had time to create these fabulous items for me. The bag is from a template from Adela Rossol - I haven't purchased the tutorial because well I am too cheap but after receive this lovely bag I am rethinking it!!!. The card is a CASE from Ilina Crouse - I fell in love with the card and thought yeap I will have to make one and my lovely SS has done it for me. I feel so very spoilt!!! My girls just love the lollie bags and have begged for me to open them for them to eat. I have said only after I managed to take a photo and pop it onto my blog - so they will be tucking into jelly beans and M&M's tomorrow (the muskettes are mine!!!).

So if my SS looks at my blog - thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. Can't wait to find out who you are.
