Elements of Style

Hi everyone,

Well despite school holidays and DD6 being banned from watching TV for being sneaky, I managed to finally ink up Elements of Style yesterday. This card is extremely easy - just how I like it. I have used the new Blushing Bride In Colour. Now when I first saw that we were getting another pink in the colour palatte I thought 'why?' and then said 'I will never use it'. Well famous last words. I am really loving the dusky pink. Don't you just love the new Whisper White Organza Ribbon?

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Elements of Style
Paper: Blushing Bride, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon, Garden Green, Blushing Bride
Other: Whisper White Organza Ribbon, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Blender Pen.

Now to finish preparing for tonight's class.

Just Believe

Hi everyone,

Today I want to show you a card that I made using the beautiful set Just Believe. Do you ever fall immediately in love with a stamp set and know that no matter what, you are going it get it? Well this was the set that did it for me in the new cattie. It was one that I don't care if I use it in a class or not I am getting it. Most of the time I have to look at a set and see if I think it will work in a class or not before I buy it. I am lucky that pretty much all of my SU! product has been purchased through my earnings of classes and customers orders so I can't just buy something because I want to - I just don't have the money to do it.

Anyway I made this card as a Birthday card for a very dear friend who has helped me out so much over these last 10 weeks.

I used the direct to rubber technique to colour in the stamp using Wild Wasabi and Regal Rose. On the background I stamped the image using Versamark.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Just Believe
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Versamark, Wild Wasabi, Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write, Regal Rose Stampin' Write
Other: 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon.

Contempo Christmas

Hi everyone,

Before showing you some yummy cards I have made with this lovely set I thought I would bring you up to speed with the latest on my ankle. I am now allowed to walk without crutches but with the Cam Boot. Naturally I am not allowed to put any weight on my ankle without the boot on. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have the use of both hands. I can now make a cuppa and actually walk to my favorite lounge chair to drink it rather than having to sit at the kitchen table!!! I go back to the specialist on the 15th October with a further X-Ray to see if the bones are finally joining up together or not and see what the next stage is. Naturally we are hopeful that the bones are now doing what they are supposed to and will fuse together and that will be that.

Now onto the Christmas Cards I have made using this lovely set. I have teamed it up with the yummy Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Very Vanilla and just a little of  Jolly Holiday DSP. This is one of the sets of cards that are for my Christmas Stamp a Stack next Monday morning (27th September from 10.00am) or Wednesday night (29th September from 7.30pm). Don't forget to contact me if you want to book in.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Contempo Christmas, Season Of Joy
Paper: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Jolly Holiday DSP
Ink: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Ornament Punch, Modern Label Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Curly Label Punch, Dimensionals, 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write and Old Olive Stampin' Write pens.

A little touch of texture

Hi everyone,

Well I have to say I am in love with the textured embossing folders from SU! I have been a fan of that other lot that are out on the market for a while - and am so excited that our offering from SU! is so much bigger - problem though is I only need one more and I have the full collection - if only Hubby new!!! (once I get my delivery that I should have got last week - can't you tell I am not happy Jan?).

These next lot of cards were inspired by the fabulous Marelle Taylor (click on her name to see her cards that I CASED them from)  and I thought they would make a perfect addition to my Stamp A Stack this week.

Now I am hoping that I get my ribbons to match the lovely Poppy Parade, Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz in time for Wednesday as these cards are supposed to have ribbon on them and not the strip of cardstock with the flowers from the Floral Fusion Slizzlet Die.

Pocket Silhouettes

Hi everyone,

I have been busy designing my Stamp A Stacks for September and October - just as well I have designed Septembers as my class is on Wednesday 22nd September LOL. I am going to show you the Pocket Silhouettes designs. Now I have used the new Marina Mist cardstock but unfortunately Mr Delivery Man has not delivered my order which contains the Marina Mist 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon that I ordered early last week - so I have had to substitute it with the retired Bashful Blue. I am hoping and praying I get my delivery on Monday or I will have to contact DS and see what the problem is - I know I shouldn't complain as there are a lot of demo's still waiting for some new toys to play with but still...

As you can see I have gone for the bright and cheery colours as Spring is definitely trying to make a go of it.

If you would like to come to my class on Wednesday night just contact me to book your place. Cost is $20 and you will get to make 8 cards with envelopes and any embellishments. I will show you the second lot of cards we are making tomorrow (or just check out my September Class list for a look).

Dasher!!!

Hi everyone,

I have been wanting Dasher ever since I saw him appear on all the US blogs last year. I was so excited to see him in the A La Carte stamp range at the back of the IB&C and he is a bargain at only $14.95. I have a feeling I will be using him a lot so be prepared for more to come. This card came about from checking out Splitcoaststampers (click here for the tutorial)  and seeing the technique for the crimped diamond. I have wanted to try this for a while and when I saw how easy it was it was a 'now why did not think of that' moments.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Dasher, Christmas Greetings
Paper: Cherry Cobbler (again!!!), Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Other: Crimper.

The Third Card from my Open House

Hi everyone,

I just want to show you the third card we made at my Open House. A very simple but effective card. If you want your Christmas Cards to be really simple then I don't think you can go past this one.

I am so in love with Cherry Cobbler that I have already ordered another pack of it!!! Got to love the Ornament Punch as well - so much easier than cutting.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Contempo Christmas
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Other: Ornament Punch, Dimensionals, 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.

I am now going to finish preparing for tonight's class and then look in my box that just arrived from Stampin' Up! and no I didn't have to pay for this one - the stamps (and there are 6 of them) are from my Stampin' Start - one of the excellent perks of being a Demo. Want to find out more about being a demo then contact me and I will be happy to talk to you.

Second Card from Open House

Hi everyone,

I wanted to show you the second card that my fabulous customers made at my open house on Sunday night.

The set Style Beautiful is one that jumped out at me from the cattie. I suppose it helps that it is featured on the front of the cattie as well. This was one of those stamp sets I bought just for me - just because. The only thing I don't like about this card is the Early Espresso ribbon - I should have purchased the Poppy Parade Stitched Poly Ribbon as it would have given this card a little more. That ribbon is however in my next order so I will remake this card and see if I like it more. I am loving the Crumb Cake Ink and have fallen in love with the deep brown of Early Espresso.

Materials Used: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Style Beautiful
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Poppy Parade
Ink: Early Espresso. Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake
Other: Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, 1/4" Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals.

I am now going to go and do my foot exercises and work on the next two months of Stamp a Stacks so I actually have something to show you.

'Til next time,

Juliette

Open House

Hi everyone,

Well I have been a little busy preparing for my Open House that was last night. Not many people came but to my lovely loyal customers (who are also fabulous friends) - a big thank you for coming. Over the next couple of days I will show you the different Make n' Takes that they did. I prepared three using all new product apart from some of the punches and Whisper White and Very Vanilla of course. Here is the first one.

A lovely simple one using the devine Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing folder. If you look through the new IB&C you will see I CASED this from the cattie.

Materials Used: (All Stapmin' Up!)
Stamps: Perfect Punches

Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz

Ink: Pear Pizzazz
Other: Floral Fusion Sizzlet Die, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals.

Anyway I hope you have a lovely evening. I am going to put my foot up as my physio told me off today for letting it get so swollen. Also it is DH's Birthday today (not that he is celebrating - he doesn't even have a present), but his Mum is here cooking a lovely Roast Lamb dinner - so lucky us!!!

Finally Some Mojo Returning

Hi everyone,

To say I have been lacking inspiration is somewhat of a statement. I have classes all this month and still haven't designed everything yet. My craft room looks like a bomb has hit it and I am still in the process of moving old product out and putting new product in. The exciting bit is I have most of the new items I wanted to get from the cattie. They arrived over the last two days so I am now wanting to play with new goodies and that is good for the mojo.

The cards I want to show you today are for next Wednesday's technique class. We are doing the polished stone technique which is so simple but looks really effective. I am a little limited in the colours I can use as I don't own all of the re-inkers yet and most of the ones I own are for the colours that have retired.

Here we are using Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink. The tree from Thoughts & Prayers has been embossed with black Embossing Powder - no ribbon has been used as I haven't quite got the money to purchase all the ribbon I want.

This second card is using Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze. Once again a simple card but effective I think.

If you are interested in learning this technique or just want to come along for some fun my class is next Wednesday night (15th September)  at 7.30pm. Cost is $15.00 and you get to take home a technique sheet as well. Contact me via email or 0407 371 558 to book your spot.

ESAD New Catalogue Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

Well yes it is time for another blog hop and I hope you are all ready for the ESAD New Catalogue Blog Hop.

What is ESAD I hear you ask?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin’
Up!

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when its needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now you may have arrived here from the talented Aly Adcock, but if you are starting here don't worry you will be able to complete the hop by clicking on the links at the end of each post. There are 24 of us in total so sit back and relax and enjoy. Also we are offering blog candy for this hop so to qualify you need to leave a comment on every blog and then email the lovely Leonie Schroder so that you can enter (please note that the offer of blog candy is not available to demonstrators). So don't forget to comment. We love comments!!!

I am fortunate to have a very talented upline - the fabulous Marelle Taylor. Due to how clever she is she got lots of stamp sets at convention. I am showcasing one of the sets called Sweetheart. Now this set will co-ordinate with the new Sweetheart Sweet treat cups that I personally can't wait to get my hands on.

I have made 3 cards using the set - all a little different but showing that this set doesn't need the Sweetheart Sweet Treat cups to make it look good.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Sweetheart, Cottage Garden
Paper: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Pirouette
Other: Eyelet Border Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Full Heart Punch, Large Oval Punch, Wide Oval Punch,  Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Dimensionals.

Next I thought I would make a couple of cute little lollipop holders - now these would be perfect for Valentines Day!!!

Materials Used:
Stamps: Sweetheart
Paper: Crumbcake
Ink: Melon Mambo
Other: Full Heart Punch, Crop-a-dile, 1/4" Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon

Lastly I thought I would make a cute little Twist Top Box. Now I have made this before (click here to see older version), but I thought that this set would be perfect for this box - you can't see it in the photo but all four sides have the heart punched out so that you can see into the box.

I must apologise for this photo - standing on one leg trying to take it is not so easy!!!

Materials Used:
Stamps: Sweetheart
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Ink: Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise
Other: Full Heart Punch, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, Acetate (non SU!)

I do hope you have enjoyed my creations. It is now time to hop off to enjoy the wonderful creations of Jo Wheedon
