Happy New Years Eve

Hi everyone,

I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas break. We certainly did although Christmas Day was rather hectic - but when is it not? Thankfully we can't do both sides of the family in one day any more but it does mean that the Christmas celebrations do go on for nearly a week. Not a bad thing for me and the girls but my poor DH finds it difficult.

Anyway I just wanted to pop by and show you a card that I made a little while ago for a round of Secret Sister I was in. The idea is that you send someone a couple of cards and a home made gift for 3 months and in the last month you reveal who you are. It is so lovely to get Happy Mail rather than the nasty ones with windows. Unfortunately the lady I sent my gifts to doesn't have a current blog or I would direct you to it.

On her questionnaire she stated that she liked Melon Mambo and Concord Crush - now I have to agree with her and I love those colours too. So here is the card using those colours.

I apologise that the image isn't straight!!! I used the stamp set Build a Blossom and yes despite there being a coordinating punch that I did use, the Melon Mambo petals were hand cut. I then popped them up on Dimensionals on top of the Pretty in Pink punched out petals. The piece of DSP behind the flower is from the Hostess only Cheerful Treat.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Build a Blossom, Heard from the Heart.
Paper: Melon Mambo, Concord Crush, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Cheerful Treat DSP
Ink: Concord Crush, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade
Other: Perfect Polka Dots EF, Blossom Petals Builder Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Dimensionals.

I hope that you all have a lovely New Years Eve and I will be back in the New Year with more ideas for you to look at.

Thanks for looking.

'Til next year.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 25

Merry Christmas everyone.

I hope that you are all having or have had a lovely day spending time out with treasured family and friends. Today we are spending the day with my DH's extended family and in a couple of days we will go and see my sisters, their husbands and my eldest nieces and nephews. I love Christmas and love the feeling of happiness and well being that is around at this time of year.

Today I am showing you the Christmas card that I made for my family and friends this year. I used the same focal image but changed the colours a little. Some have a background of Whisper White and others Very Vanilla. Each flower was stamped at least three times and then punched out with the Fancy Flower Punch, the 5-Petal Punch and the 3/4" Circle Punch and then layered using Dimenionsals. A lot of stamping and a lot of punching but a lot of fun too.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. Thank you to all of you who have stumbled across my little part of the web and thank you for all your lovely comments through out the year. Stay safe and take the time to enjoy each others company.

'Til next time,

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 24

Hi everyone,

Hooray it's Christmas Eve!!! Unfortunately so much to do and so little time to do it in. DH is currently showering the DD's so that is one thing I can cross off my list of things to do. I still have some wrapping up to do - which is completely not like me. Normally I have all the presents wrapped and under the tree by now. DH is planning to watch a DVD with me tonight so once I have finished my blog post I best wrap some more presents before I make Pizza for dinner - otherwise I will be in trouble. Luckily all of his presents and the DD's are done.

Here is today's card. Once again a nice simple one. I love Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist together.

I will be back tomorrow with a picture of the Christmas card I sent out this year.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 23

Hi everyone,

Whilst 'blurffing' yesterday (when I should have been cleaning and tidying), I came across a set of cards on Leonie Schroders blog using Holiday Lineup. I am sorry to say my Holiday Lineup stamp set always seems to be on the bottom of the pile when I am making Christmas cards so I pulled mine out. I have sort of CASEd Leonies - well the Top Note part and here is my card.

I am in serious need of some gift card holders for all the people who are getting gift cards and I think I will pop an insert on the inside and slide a gift card into it. I really must use this set more often.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 22

Hi everyone,

Today's card is not using traditional colours at all (except maybe the Old Olive). I bought the A La Carte stamp "Something for Christmas" as soon as the IB&C came out but I am very sad to say it has hardly seen any ink what so ever. I had lots of ideas for this stamp when I bought it but unfortunately they have all escaped me. But I did manage to come up with something. Here is my card for today.

It was a little fiddly with the colouring with the Stampin' Write markers but overall I quite like it. The baubles were also stamped separately and then cut out and popped up on Dimensionals over the original images.

The colours used are Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive stamped onto Very Vanilla.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 21

Hi everyone,

Wow I actually made it on Day 21! Today I am going to show you a rather simple gift idea. A "Stamped" candle. These are a lot of fun to make and don't take too long. You just need to be careful that you don't melt the candle. I am lucky and actually haven't done this, but I know it does happen.

I used the stamp set Beautiful Season and stamped it in Stazon onto white tissue paper. I then coloured in the image using my trusty blender pen and inks of Old Olive, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip. I then just wrapped a piece of Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon around it.

Here it is in an inexpensive glass holder I picked up from the local $2 (for $3 lol).

I have a couple of presents I need to make for DH's Aunties so they may well be getting one of these each.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 20

Hi everyone,

Hooray I made it back for a second time today. I can't remember if I have shown you this set of cards at all before. I know that my lovely ladies have made them in class but I can't find where I posted them on my blog - so if you have seen them, sorry. If not here they are.

I love Punch Pals so not surprising that they are in the countdown again. It is a shame that you see it in the pictures but I have added Crystal Effects to some of the images to add a little dimension.

Yes your eyes aren't deceiving you I actually used Garden Green. DH thinks that Garden Green is a more Christmassy green than Old Olive.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 19

Hi everyone,

Yes another day late and I am hoping to have a second post ready later on today so I can stay as much on schedule until Christmas Day.

Yesterday was an emotional day for me as it was DD5 last day at preschool. I had a good cry when we left. Not so much at the fact that she is growing up so quickly but more because I am going to miss the teachers so much. Anyway this post is showing you what I made the teachers this year for their gifts.

And here is the front view.

All up this year I have made about 10 of these babies and I am all sleighed out. I still have one left to make for us but it will have to wait until next year!!!

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 18

Hi everyone,

Yeah!!! I made it two days in a row!!! Today I am going to show you a couple of calenders that are going into the Christmas present that DD5 is giving to her pre school teachers. Whilst these are not totally "Christmas" related they are sort of in a way. When do you normally give away calenders? At Christmas is when.

I have used the gorgeous Spice Cake DSP to make these which is currently available in our Summer Mini. I  have attached some magnetic strips to the back so that they can be put on the fridge.

Tomorrow I plan to show you the main gift that the teachers got this year.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 17

Hi everyone,

Yes I am back again with today's post. Once again I have decided to show you another type of Gift card holder. Once again not an original idea and I am sorry I can't remember where I got the idea from in the first place. The measurements are my own though - I do know that.

Dasher was actually stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed using the gorgeous Cherry Cobbler EP.

Here is the inside.

You even have a space to write your own message so it is really a card and gift card holder all in one.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 16

Hi everyone,

Yes I know the wheels fell off again and I am a day late posting but I have a really good excuse. Apart from first thing yesterday morning I spent the day in bed. I managed to get out to get the groceries done and then when I got home went straight to bed. You can blame DD5 for bringing some horrible bug into the house. It managed to get all of us this time:(

Anyway enough of my excuses here is todays (oops I mean yesterdays project)

A pair of cute earrings made with the Triple Layer Doily punch. Not my original idea but one that I got from Monique Fielder (click here to see her original ones, whilst there check out the rest of her blog).

Naturally a pair of earrings need a box to go in so here is one that I made.

These babies are really very easy to make and that Silver Glimmer paper is the best.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 15

Hi everyone,

Today I have another card for you. I am hoping that from tomorrow I will start to show you some other ideas rather than just cards - but having said that I still have a lot of card ideas floating around in my head.

Today's card is using the set Merry & Type.

Once again I have teamed it with Letters to Santa. The main colours used here are Marina Mist, Riding Hood Red and Old Olive.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 14

Hi everyone,

Well I think I am just about there with the gifts I have been making. Still have four gifts to make for some important ladies in my life. I need to get them done by Friday so I will be busy for a little while to come but next week will be much less hectic.

Today I am going to show you a card I have made using Pennant Parade. This set is such a versatile set and this time I am using it for a Christmas Card.

I have used two of the colours from the Letters to Santa DSP (Old Olive and Blushing Bride), I think they look great teamed with Whisper White and Crumb Cake. What do you think?

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 13

Hi everyone,

I have been playing with the DSP Letters to Santa. Now if I am honest I have to say I did not like it at all when I saw it in the IB&C. It is now growing on me and you will probably see a couple more posts with projects using it.

Todays "project" is another gift card. It was inspired by someone else (and I can't for the life of me remember who). The sentiment is from Tags til Christmas.

Now if only I had purchased the 1" Punch (available in the current Mini) then I would be able to layer the sentiment better.

The gift card opens to reveal the gift card and there is a space for you to write your message. I just haven't got around to photographing it yet and the weather is that "crap" that I can't get even a slightly decent photo.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 12

Hi everyone,

Oh dear, I did it again. I got way too busy yesterday trying to finish up teachers presents and the like that I didn't get around to posting again. I really must be more organised and schedule my posts. So there will be two posts today.

I would like to show you a set of cards from my Stamp a Stacks this year using Delightful Decorations. I have used Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive for them instead of more traditional colours.

A simple but effective set of cards.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 11

Hi everyone,

See I do sometimes do what I say!!! Here is the second post for today. This time I am going to show you some gift tags that I made for my hostess today. I have used the really easy to use set Tags til Christmas. All of the images can be punched out to make life so much easier.

I actually made six of these tags and popped them into a little Pizza Box. These tags are small enough to fit into our small square envelopes.

Here is the Pizza Box.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 10

Hi everyone,

I know, I know I didn't post yesterday. It was my Dad's 78th Birthday yesterday so I had a little get together for my Dad, his wife and my Sister and BIL. Then after they left I had to finish preparing for a workshop that I am doing a little later on today.

There will be two posts today instead.

Costco has opened here in Sydney recently and a little while ago my very good friend Manda and I headed down there. I bought some gorgeous wrapping paper - 47.5m of it. Sadly it isn't going to get used this year as most of my family have asked for Gift Vouchers - so here is a gift voucher that I have made.

I love the colour combination of Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler. This voucher holder looks like a Christmas Decoration and can easily be hung on the tree. I have used probably my most favorite Christmas set, Snow Swirled. You can't see it too easily but I have also put Dazzling Diamonds over some of the swirls of the tree.

Well that's it for post one of today. I need to hang the washing on the line before I head out to my workshop.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 9

Hi everyone,

Well I promised you something new today and I am happy to say I can deliver.

Tonight is my Uplines annual Christmas Party and we are doing a card swap. Today's card is for the card swap, hence the reason why my post is slightly later than normal.

I love Dasher and I have not used him enough. I saw over on Gretchen Barron's blog ages ago that she had used Dasher with the Mocha Morning Specialty DSP so I thought I would give it a try. I think it makes for quite an elegant card.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Dasher, Contempo Christmas
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Brushed Gold, Very Vanilla, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1/4" Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Modern Label Punch, Dimensionals, Gold EP, Heat Tool.

Well I now have to go and get myself looking a little nice than I do right now.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 8

Hi everyone,

Today I am cheating by showing you a set of cards that my ladies made this year in one of my Christmas Stamp A Stacks. I know bad me - but I have completely run out of time to get anything new done for today's post. I promise I will have something new to share tomorrow.

I used the gorgeous set Snow Swirled. Although we live in "sunny" (well not so much at the moment) Australia, there is still something about snow flakes at Christmas time. For these cards I have used the emboss resist technique. To do this all you need to do is stamp your image in Versamark and then sprinkle either clear or white embossing powder over the image, remove the excess and then use your heat tool. Then use a sponge to sponge ink over and around the image. The embossed image will resist the ink and you just wipe it over with a tissue to remove the excess. I have used a favorite colour combination of mine which is Perfect Plum and Marina Mist.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Snow Swirled, Heard from the Heart, Curly Cute
Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum DSP, Marina Mist DSP
Ink: Versamark, Perfect Plum, Marina Mist
Other: White EP, Heat Tool, 5/8" Organza Ribbon, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 7

Hi everyone,

Wow - we are a week into my countdown. I still have lots of ideas to show you, but I guess that is because I love Christmas and the ideas keep coming.

Today I am going to show you a card that is made with possibly the cutest Christmas set, Punch Pals.

Here I have just used three of the images and stamped them onto scrap Whisper White. I then punched them out using the 1 3/8" Square Punch. The images have been coloured in using a blender pen and lots of different inks. The sentiment is also from the same set and works perfectly with some of our other punches. Unfortunately you can't see the sentiment properly - I probably should have stamped it onto Whisper White rather than Real Red.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Punch Pals
Paper: Real Red, Old Olive, Baja Breeze
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red, Baja Breeze, Basci Black, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Jet Black Stazon
Other: 1 3/8" Square Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 6

Hi everyone,

Just a quick one from me today. I am suffering terribly with toothache and I am not very happy. Can't get into see the dentist until tomorrow evening so I will just have to suffer on.

Today's card is a very simple one - although it seemed to take me longer than it should.

I have had the Designer Frames Embossing folders for what now seems forever and have only just remembered I had them. They do make lovely frames and I will be using the rectangle one for a card in a couple of days. The sentiment is from Snow Swirled and the ornament is from Delightful decorations. I apologise for the photography but it is really dark here in sunny Sydney and unfortunately you can't quite see that the border around the Real Red is the Silver Glimmer Paper.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Delightful Decorations, Snow Swirled
Paper: Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive
Other: Ornament Punch, Large Oval Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Dimensionals, 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbons.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 5

Hi everyone,

I spent this morning at my DD7 school for their Celebration of Learning Assembly. All the children in Year 1 and Year 2 got an award and they were so very proud of themselves. It is lovely to see all children being recognised for their own special talents. I can't believe that my eldest will be going into Year 2 next year and that my youngest will be starting school. I really have no idea where all that time has gone.

Enough rabbiting on from me. Here is Day 5's project.

I first saw these gorgeous Santa's on Patty Bennett's blog and instantly decided I had to make them. I have actually made 105 of these cute little fellas and punched out another 95 of them for various classes and the like. DD7 will be giving these ones with the pencils to her school friends. DD5 will be giving some to her preschool friends with the Christmas M&M's.

Here is a closer picture Santa.

To make him you will need the Ornament Punch, the Bird Builder Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Owl Builder Punch and the Boho Blossoms Punch. I also ran the Real Red hat through the Big Shot using Petals a Plenty EF and the Whisper White beard went through using the Elegant Lines EF. I had some Blush Blossom cardstock left over from when it retired but you could get away with using Pink Pirouette or even Blushing Bride. To make his hat and pom pom "Pop" I would suggest you use some Dazzling Diamonds or even use the Silver Glimmer paper for these elements. As these fellas will probably just be destroyed I didn't see the point.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 4

Hi everyone,

Here I am back again with Day 4. Today I am going to show the Christmas Cards that I made for DD7 to give to her school friends this year.

Isn't he just the cutest? There are lots of this red nosed reindeer out there in blog land and I thank who ever thought of it first. Don't you just love his glittery nose? I am not a fan of glitter - I hate it getting everywhere - so I am so very thankful that the red and silver glimmer paper made it into our Summer Mini. I made 30 of these beauties yesterday and now they just need to be written on and given out over the next couple of days.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Contempo Christmas
Paper: Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Glimmer
Ink: Real Red
Other: Dimensionals, Owl Punch (for the head and eyes), 1/2" Circle Punch, Big Shot, Swirls Scribbles Sizzlet Die, Two Way Glue.

I will be back tomorrow with the gift that is going along with these cards.

Thanks for looking.

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 3

Hi everyone,

Yay I made it back again for day 3. I really wanted to make a few more of these as it would have looked better in the picture but I ran out of time last night and this morning. I will however be making a lot more of these over the coming weeks for various events coming up.

I was out shopping (as you do at this time of the year) and ran across some little chocolates that are like mini Christmas puddings in chocolate. Now I love Christmas puddings so I had to buy them. Two packets later I thought I could make a holder to put a couple of them in. Now I have had the Two Tags Die since the 2011-2012 Catalogue came out and have only just got around to using the second of the tags. There are quite a few tutorials out in blog land to make these cute little boxes (check out this link to Dawn Olchefske's one and she has done a video tutorial), they really are very easy to do.

I made the Christmas pudding using the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. The 'custard' was made using the icing from the Cupcake Builder Punch. The holly leaves were made freehand using a pair of paper snips and the berries are also using the Cupcake Builder Punch. Note to self these would look a lot better if I had sponged the pudding, and the holly leaves. But it is rather cute - don't you think?

I am now going to help my DD's make some Christmas Tree cookies and hopefully get to watch some of the V8 racing from the Sydney Telstra 500.

Thanks for looking.

Juliette

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 2

Hi everyone,

Well so far so good. I know it is only day two of my countdown but at least I have made it. Let's just hope I can maintain the momentum.

Today I have another card that is using a non Christmas stamp. I love the Medallion background stamp but it managed to find its way to the back of my stamp sets and has been sadly neglected.

I have seen a couple of cards like this on Splitcoaststampers and thought that it would make a great Christmas Wreath card. I have difficulties in inking up my Medallion with normal ink, and have a better result when I heat emboss the image. So yes out came the Versamark, Heat Tool and this time the Wild Wasabi EP. The sentiment is from Merry & Type.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Medallion Background, Merry & Type
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Poppy Parade
Other: Circle punch from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Poppy Parade Polly Twill Ribbon, Clear Rhinestone Brade, Dimensionals, Wild Wasabi EP, Heat Tool.
Non SU!: Nestie Circle Die.

Now I am off to have a look at creating something for tomorrows post. Mmmm thinking that I might try something that isn't a card.

Thanks for looking.

Juliette

2011 Countdown to Christmas - Day 1

Hi everyone,

As promised I am back with my first post of my Countdown to Christmas for 2012. Over the next 25 days I intend to show you a variety of ideas for Christmas - from cards, tags, decorations and gifts. Hopefully some of these ideas will inspire you. I will say up front that not all of the ideas are my own. I will give credit for ideas that I have borrowed but remember that I probably can't remember where I saw all of the ideas.

My first project today is a Christmas card. I like being able to use non Christmas stamps for Christmas. It shows how versatile a set is. I saw this idea on Kerry Buntings blog last year when we did a blog hop - so I will give her the credit. Click here to see her gorgeous card.

I have used the set Artistic Etchings. The "baubles" have been stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Gold EP. The crowns from the set have also been stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP. I have then cut them out - now mean feat I can tell you. I have used the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions EF to resemble a tree and added a little 1/8" Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon. The sentiment is from Beautiful Season.

A rather "elegant" looking card even if I do say so myself. I have to ask though why is it that I only tend to bring out the embossing powders at Christmas?

Thanks for looking.

Summer Splash (Sneak Peak from Summer Mini)

Hi everyone,

Last week my gorgeous family and I went away to the beach for the week. Unfortunately it rained and rained and rained (Sod's Law!!!). Out of 7 days we managed to get 1 1/2 days that were nice. But hey you win some and you loose some don't you?

The card I am going to show you today is using the set Summer Splash which you will be able to purchase from tomorrow.

I have seen a few cards like this on Splitcoaststampers and thought I would try it myself. I stamped the image in Versamark and then used three of our new embossing powder colours to achieve the different colours on the surfboards. I just used my fingers to sprinkle the different colours over the Versamark and then heat set it using my heat tool. No mean feat if you know me. I am not a fan of getting my fingers dirty (I just about manage with ink and that is it!!!). The sentiment is from Sunny Fun.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Summer Splash, Sunny Fun
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Versamark
Other: Tempting Turquoise EP, Wild Wasabi EP, Melon Mambo EP, Heat Tool, 1/4" Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF, 1" Circle Punch, Dimensionals.

Tomorrow is the 1st December which means three things. 1 The Summer Mini goes live so stay tuned for more cool ideas from this mini catalogue. 2 The next monthly deals will be available so keep an eye out for those. As yet we don't know what they are but apparently there will be up to 50% off some items. 3 Tomorrow marks the start of my countdown to Christmas so I will have 25 days of Christmas cards, gift ideas to show you.

Thanks for looking.

What a Scrap Page?

Hi everyone,

No don't go and adjust your computers. Yes I have a scrap page for you. Very not me I know but there you have it. A little while back I was asked to host a workshop for a group of ladies who like to scrap. Now for me I find that scrapping is quite a personal thing so when I was asked to do up a generic page that could be adapted for holiday photos I was a little stumped.

Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator naturally I feel the need to include stamped images wherever I can for scrap pages so I brought out an old faithful in Baroque Motifs. So here is the page.

The adorable subjects are my DD's. These photos were taken a couple of years ago when they were 3 & 5. They are just as adorable but a bit bigger and messier and nosier these days!!!

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Marina Mist, Rose Red, Whisper White
Ink: Marina Mist
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlets, Boho Blossom Punch, Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful Season

Hi everyone,

Well Christmas is only a month away. Argggh!!! I do hope that you are better prepared than I am. I haven't even started my shopping. I have however finished my Christmas cards which is better than last year when I only started them in December.

I bought this gorgeous stamp set when us demo's could pre-order from the new catalogue back in August. I am very sad to say that it has only just seen ink:( It may have something to do with the fact that I am not particularly comfortable at colouring in my images. I however am quite happy with how it has turned out. You may even see some more of this set during my countdown to Christmas!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive together (although my hubby is not a fan of Old Olive).

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up! (unless otherwise stated)
Stamps: Beautiful Season, Music Notes (standard roller)
Paper: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink: Jet Black Stazon,Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Other: Wide Oval Punch, Decorative Label Punch, 5/8" Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon
Non SU: Nestie Ovals.

Thanks for looking.

Happiest Birthday Wishes - yet another Birthday card

Hi everyone,

Today I would like to show you a card I made for a friend for her 40th Birthday. I wanted to make something a little special - or rather not a standard card. Unfortunately I didn't get to go to Regional Training this year (or last year for that matter), but I have seen this style of card that was a make and take at the Regional training. I thought well that can't be too hard and you know what it isn't. So without further ado here is the card.

Here is it showing how you open it.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Happiest Birthday Wishes (Hostess 2011)
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, Melon Mambo DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo, Concord Crush
Other: Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die, Scallop Trim Border Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch.

Need for Speed

Hi everyone,

Thought I would pop by and post a picture of a card I made for my BIL. Now his birthday was back in October but despite the fact we live not far from each other we have only just got around to giving him his present and card. I first met by BIL when he was about 14 and when I first met him he was going to join the Air force. Things happen and love comes along and he didn't join the Air force but I knew that the plane from Need for Speed was perfect for him.

I will ask for your forgiveness with the photography. I thought I had got a better photo than I did. I stamped the plane three times without re-inking to give it the impression it was actually flying. The card is a little smaller than I normally make as I really wanted to use the Houndstooth EF but alas they are designed to fit an US sized card rather than our Aussie ones. The sentiment is from the Hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up
Stamps: Need for Speed, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Real Red, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Other: Big Shot, Houndstooth EF

Beautiful Butterflies for a Beautiful Lady

Hi everyone,

Yes I have been MIA recently. I have been working like crazy in my craft room but I don't really seem to be getting anywhere. I have just complete 30 Christmas cards for a friend of mine so I am relieved about that. Now to start mine. Hubby has approved the design and colours (he is not a fan of Old Olive so I wasn't allowed to use that for my green this year). Now all I have to do is start stamping, punching, Big Shotting (I know that isn't a word but you understand) and putting together. I want to get it done before Monday as we are having a wee break and spending a week at the beach so I want to take all the bits with me so I can just put the cards together. Anyway enough rabbiting on from me.

Early this week a very gorgeous and beautiful friend of mine had her birthday, (Manda from Nanny Kate Design go check out her blog you won't be disappointed).  A group of us went to the movies and saw "I don't know how she does it all". A funny movie and one that left me thinking I don't do enough. Here is the card that I made her.

I love the combination of Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla together so naturally I had to break out the gorgeous Beau Chateau DSP for this card. The sentiment is from Perfectly Penned. A few Basic Pearls just added that extra feminine feel.

Thanks for looking.

Lest We Forget

"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

"Lest we Forget."

(A stanza from the poem "For the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon).

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the diggers and everyone else in the world who has served or is serving for our right for freedom. I will never forget you.

Stitched Stockings Baby Card

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine had a baby girl nearly six weeks ago. For some reason that time went really quickly and I hadn't organised a card or present or anything for her - so finally I got my act into gear and this is the card I came up with.

There are a few of this type of card out there in blog land so I don't know who to thank for the original idea but thank you who ever you are. I really should make some more of these as they really are quite easy.

Now if you didn't manage to get your hands on this cool stamp set and matching punch last month - then don't worry they will become available again when the summer mini catalogue goes live on December 1st. Oh and have you noticed the bakers twine around the booties? That will be available too.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Stitched Stockings, Friendly Phrases
Paper: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Blushing Bride DSP
Ink: Blushing Bride
Other: Stocking Tag Builder Punch, Perfect Polka Dots EF, 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon
Non SU: Nestie Dies.

Christmas Decorations

Hi everyone,

Thought I would pop a quick post while my DD's are theoretically tidying up their toy room. I can hear a lot more laughs than there should be so I guess in a couple of mins, I will be leaving the computer to try and get them to refocus (preferably without yelling at them).

My classes this week are Christmas Bauble classes. They are just the thing for the teachers at school or the extended family.

Dasher is actually on the inside of the glass bauble and looks really effective IRL. I do have some spots available on Wednesday and Thursday if you would like to come to class. Cost is $15 for the first bauble and $10 for each one after that. You also make the box to pop the bauble in. There will be a range of stamp sets and embossing powders to choose from - so let me know if you can make it (and how many you would like to make).

Oh no, the laughter is turning to screaming and crying so I had better go.

Thanks for looking.

Season Of Joy - Contemporary Colours

Hi everyone,

Once again the week seems to have gotten away from me. I have been busy but haven't really achieved much I am afraid to say.

I thought I would show you some of the cards that my ladies made in class this week. I cased these cards from the very talented Jenny Moores. Instead of the traditional red and green of Christmas I decided to use more contemporary colours. I have seen decorations in green, pink and turquoise so naturally I decided to use Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade and Tempting Turquoise and this is what I came up with.

Even if I do say so myself they do look rather good in real life.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Season of Joy
Paper: Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise
Other: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Markers.

Delicate Doilies meets Stamping 411

Hi everyone,

I have just had a major panic and don't think I am going to get everything I want to get done in time for Christmas. I mean where has this year gone? I went to my local shopping centre yesterday with DD5 and as we walked in I said to her "in a week or so the Christmas Decorations will be up". Well DD5 turned to me and said "they are all ready up Mummy!!!". Now that is very scary.

World Teachers Day is celebrated in October. Now because it is generally at the beginning of October it falls during our school holidays, so the Department of Education decided that this Friday just gone we would celebrate it instead. DD7 has two teachers (they job share), so I needed to make two gifts. DD7 gave her Friday teacher her gift but in true Mummy style I hadn't finished the other one off. I am happy to say it is now finished and I will show you photo's of their gifts in the days to come. I realised that my card I made could be used for the Stamping 411 sketch this week.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

I have basically reversed it. Now I know it is very pink but apparently Mrs Watts likes pink so there you have it.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Delicate Doilies, Curly Cute
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo
Other: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch,  1 3/4" Circle Punch, Doily Triple Layer Punch, 5/8" Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, Magnetic Movers & Shapers Punch Windows, Dimensionals, Basic Jewels Rhinestone.

Tomorrow I am doing the Walk for A Cure to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. My friends 4 y/o son was diagnosed at about 18 months with it. He will have it for life as there is no cure as yet. Read his story here, better yet sponsor either his Mum (Melanie) or myself. The more money raised, the better we have a chance to try and get a cure for this horrible disease.

Chest of Drawers

Hi everyone,

For my project class this week my ladies are making a small chest of drawers. I was inspired by one that is on Splitcoaststampers (click here to see), but just because I can I decided to change it up. My chest of drawers has three drawers, which seemed like a good idea until I started to make it. But now I have all my measurements and everything is working well. Sorry about the photo - but I am in a little bit of a rush and don't have time to re-take it.

Once you get the hang of it they really are quite easy. If you are interested I am holding this class tomorrow night and Thursday night - just email me to book your spot.

Thanks for looking.

More Stitched Stockings this time for a Stamp A Stack

Hi everyone,

Just a quick one today. I thought I would show you some of the cards at this weeks Christmas Stamp A Stack. We will be making six cards using Delightful Decorations (click here to see these cards), and six using Stitched Stockings and the Stocking Tag Punch.

I still have some spaces for tomorrow night and also on Thursday night. Please contact me if you would like to come so that I can have enough kits prepared in advance (cost is $30 or $25 if you bring your own adhesive). Christmas is just around the corner so if you haven't thought about making your cards now is a good time to start. If you can't make it to class but would like to make these cards contact me for a workshop booking. I am happy to bring the class to you.

Thanks for looking.

Stitched Stockings Christmas Tags

Hi everyone,

Well I have been MIA haven't I? My only excuse is I decided to make these cute Christmas Tags as a little gift for a workshop that I had on Sunday and they took me longer than I had thought they would. When I do a workshop, not only do I like to give the hostess a little thank you gift but I also like to give the ladies who come a little gift as well. As you know this month our special is on the Stitched Stockings set ($53.95WM or $42.95CM) and Stocking Tag Punch ($33.95). Now you can either purchase this set and punch now or have to wait until December to buy it when it appears in the Summer Mini Catalogue, or you can host a workshop where orders exceed $450 or place an order of $450 or more and get the set and the punch for free.

I thought I would make some gift tags just to show what you can do with this set, and this is what I came up with. I really wanted to put some bells on the stockings - unfortunately SU! in Australia don't sell them at the moment so I had to go elsewhere but sometimes that is the case.

Here is another picture of them the way that I packaged them up. I put three tags into each one.

Materials Used (All Stampin' Up! apart from the Bells).
Stamps: Stitched Stockings, Petite Pairs, Perfect Punches (for the packaging)
Paper: Marina Mist, Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Marina Mist, Old Olive, Real Red
Other: Two Tags Die, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch,  1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Stocking Tag Punch, Dimensionals,  1/8" Real Red, Old Olive and Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, 4" X 6" Cellophane Bags.

I still have three of these left so if you would like one leave a comment on this post and if I am lucky enough to get more than three comments one of my little girls will draw names out of a hat. You have until this Friday  21st October to leave a message.

Thanks for looking.

'Til next time,

Juliette
