Easel Card Treat Box with Tutorial.

Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I last posted. I thought I would pop by to show you a little easel card treat box that I have made. The size of the card on top is a standard sized card

This is one that I made using the gorgeous Vintage Vogue. A set that I really love but somehow forget I have it - until I see someone else has used it. The photography isn't great and it looks like I have used River Rock but I can assure you that I have used Sahara Sand and Perfect Plum. The large flowers have all been stamped from inking up the stamp just once. I love that you can have more than one colour from the ink pad when you do it this way.

This second one is one that I made to help with a small tutorial that you will find further in the post. I have used the beautiful SAB set Bliss with Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette.

The box itself is just a pizza box but due to the size that I have made it you actually need two pieces of card stock.

To make the box I cut two pieces of card stock to 21.8cm X 17.5cm

This picture shows the measurements and the score lines. This is a picture of the bottom of the box. I cut my tabs making sure that I had cut away some wedges to help the tabs sit properly in the box.

This picture shows the top of the box. Note I have cut away two of the tabs completely. You will use the section left to adhere to the box base to make your lid.

Assemble the box bottom using Sticky Strip.

Attach the box top using Sticky Strip.

You should have a box that will look like this when it is open. You may have noticed that I have punched a small semi circle on the box lid. This helps with the opening of the box. If you are going to do this, do it before you assemble the box. Trust me I have learned from experience!!!

I then made an easel card to attach to the top of the box. The measurements for the easel card are 1 piece of card stock at 14.3cm X 20cm - this is for the base. You will need to fold that in half so that you have a card that measures 14.3cm X 10cm.

Next you will want to fold one side of the card in half - this is for the easel.

Lastly attach a piece of card that measures 14.3cm X 10cm  to your easel and attach it to the box. Note it is probably better that you make your card face first before attaching everything - that way if you do make a mistake all is not lost!!! Once again I have learned from experience!!!

Anyway thanks for looking. If you do use this tutorial to make your own - let me know I would love to see pictures!!!

Thanks for taking the time to create such a wonderful tutorial, and for all the tips. Love the one about only inking the stamp once, you are so clever. X
