A little Black Magic

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would pop by and show you a couple of cards that I have made using the Black Magic Technique and the Chalk Board Technique. This is my class for this week and I do still have spots if you would like to come.

First here is the card using Black Magic.

I apologise for the quality of the photos but it is a very dark and grey day here in Sydney and I had to take the photo with the flash or it would have looked worse!!!

This is a very easy technique to do. I stamped Upsy Daisy in Whisper White Craft ink onto Basic Black cardstock. I then coloured in the images with my Stampin' Up! water colour pencils. I then added a little White Gel Ink pen to highlight where I thought it would need it. The base colour cardstock is Perfect Plum and the DSP is Perfect Plum from the DSP pack. The sentiment is stamped in Elegant Eggplant and is from the set Heard from the Heart.

Here is the second card that uses the Chalk Board Technique.

Once again a very easy technique. I stamped the image from Inspired by Nature in Whisper White Craft Ink onto Basic Black cardstock again. I then used my Stampin' Pastels to colour in the image. The colours I used were Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red for the flowers and Old Olive for the stems and leaves. The colours of the cardstock used are Pretty in Pink and Rose Red. The sentiment has been stamped in Rose Red and once again is from Heard from the Heart.

Thanks for looking.

Kimono Kids meets Stamping 411

Hi everyone,

It seems like I have been doing a lot but have little to show for it. I have managed to get myself into the situation where I am chasing my tail whilst designing for my classes. So I decided to do something just for me and when I saw the Saturday Sketch Challenge over at Stamping 411 I knew what I wanted to do.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my interpretation of it.

Kimono Kids was not a set that was on my radar when I saw it in the catalogue. I borrowed a friends set and had a lot of fun with it so I had to order it!!! Isn't that always the way?

I have used Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry with a little Pear Pizzazz thrown in. You can't see it so well but I have also used Pink Pirouette DSP from the DSP Stacks at the bottom. I love the Satin Ribbon that Stampin' Up! offer. It makes tying bows a lot easier than with the grosgrain ribbon.
Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Kimono Kids, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Jet Black Stazon
Other: Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, 5/8" Rich Razzleberry Statin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Glue Dots.

Thanks for looking.

Surprise Challenge - Use your Big Shot

Hi everyone,

This was one of the challenges at ESAD Unconvention this last weekend. The brief was to make anything using the Big Shot. Well I can tell you I have difficulties NOT using my Big Shot so thought I would have a go.

I made this card.

For this I used the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Blossom Party Original Die. I also framed my Curly Label shape using the Movers & Shapers Magnetic Curly Label Die.

I thought I would also make a matching hexagonal box using the Milk Carton Die. This cute little boxes have been popping up over blog land and they are so easy to make. They also mean that you can make a bigger box to pop some goodies in.

Just in case you are wondering the colours I used are: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo. Such nice bright colours especially as we head into winter here.

Thanks for looking.

A Sense of Time

Hi everyone,

Whilst a lot of my demo friends were in chilly Melbourne for the annual Australasian Stampin' Up! convention, some of us were left at home. The wonderful group I belong to ESAD had "Unconvention" that ran over the days of the real convention. Now if you are an Australian or New Zealand Demo I would suggest you come over and check us out. The ladies are so very nice and friends. Just click here to join in the fun. Some very clever and talented ladies put their hands up to run challenges for us to do. One of the challenges was a colour challenge using the colours - Crumb Cake, River Rock and Soft Suede. Not normally colours I use but I thought I should challenge myself every so often. Here is what I came up with.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: A Sense of Time
Paper: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, River Rock
Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Other: Hemp Twine, Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals.

I will be back over the week to show you more of the challenges that I was able to partake in. Unfortunately time was against me so I wasn't able to complete everything. I will however try and make more later on during this week.

Thanks for looking.

Inlaid Embossing

Hi everyone,

I am a keen fan of the inlaid embossing technique that is doing the rounds at the moment. It is so simple yet looks very effective. In my Stamp A Stack this week we are making 4 cards using the inlaid embossing technique.

The other 4 cards that we are making can be seen on my class list for May (click here).

If you would like to come and make 8 cards in total on either Wednesday night or Thursday night just contact me to book your spot. Cost is $25 (or $20 if you bring your own adhesive).

Thanks for looking.

'Til next time,

Juliette
