Delightful Decorations meets Sunny Challenges

Hi everyone,

Wow two posts in two days. I know shock horror. Today I want to show you a card that I made for the Sunny Challenges & Creations blog challenge (what a mouthful!!!). This week the challenge was to use a wheel  and combine it with a sketch.

Here is the sketch.

Now I don't know about you but my wheels have been very much neglected of late. The wheels are a great way to add a background (or even a focal point) on a card or scrapbook page. When looking through my wheels I realised that most of mine have now retired. The ones I have are ones that I tend to use with my Christmas Cards.

Here is my card.

I love traditional Christmas colours but I also like this combination of Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Whisper White. What do you think?

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Delightful Decorations, Sassy Sparkles Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Other: Ornament Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Big Shot, Polka Dot EF, Scallop Border Punch, 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Jewels Rhinestones.

Why not pop over to the Sunny Challenges Blog and try your hand at this weeks challenge.

Thanks for looking.

'Til next time,

Delicate Doilies

Hi everyone,

No I don't mean the type of doilies that Nanna and Great Nanna used to have all over the house, although have you ever looked at how beautiful they actually are? A lot of work goes into them to but anyway I do digress.

One of the new sets I had to have (just for me) was the set Delicate Doilies. Now when I was blurfing I found a really cool site by Chat (aka Nitestamper on SCS or blog Me, My Stamps and I. I just love her style and I loved what she did with this card here. Who would have thought to have used Soft Suede for the doilies?

Naturally when I got my set I decided to CASE her including the colours, so here is my version.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up! (apart from the large circle).
Stamps: Delicate Doilies, A Word For You
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Soft Suede DSP
Ink: Soft Suede
Other: Big Shot, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Polka Dots EF, Basic Pearls.

Thanks for looking.

Pennant Parade

Hi everyone,

Well I hope you have recovered from Fathers Day. We had a rather full on day travelling all over the countryside but it was well worth it.

I thought I should probably start to show you some projects made using some of the lovely new products available in the new cattie. I am waiting patiently for Mr Delivery Man to bring a delivery of more goodies to play with but alas I don't think he will be here until about 5pm and then there will be little chance of having a play before 9.30pm tonight. (Sigh...)

Anyway thanks to being a demo I got to pre-order some lovely new items. It is so much fun being able to play before the cattie comes out. Here are a couple of cards that were from my Open House for the launch of the new cattie. I have used the set Pennant Parade.

Firstly here is one of the make & takes that my lovely ladies made.

It is a 3.5" X 3.5" card. I know it doesn't fit into any of our standard envelopes but I just thought I would like to make a smaller card for a change. I have teamed the stamp set with some really cute new DSP called Just Add Cake. The sentiment is also from Pennant Parade.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Pennant Parade
Paper: Wiled Wasabi, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Just Add Cake DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Poppy Parade
Other: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Scallop Trim border Punch, Medium Jewellery Tag punch, 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals.

This second card is one that I made for a Catalogue Scavenger Hunt. Basically I made three different cards and got my ladies to go through the new cattie searching for answers to questions that I had written about the cards and a few other questions. It got them to look through the cattie although I think a couple of the ladies thought that it was race!!! LOL.

This card uses two of the gorgeous new In Colours - Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade. I have a feeling that I will be using a fair amount of these colours.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Pennant Parade, Happiest Birthday Wishes (Hostess set)
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Stampin' Write Markers in Pretty in Pink, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade.
Other: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Finial Press EF, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Dimensionals.

Still waiting patiently for Mr Delivery Man - I really hope he comes today due to the fact that my items were shipped on Friday. It's just like waiting for Christmas!!!

Thanks for looking.

Happy Fathers Day

Hi everyone,

Well I hope that everyone has been spoiling their Dads, Hubby's or Partners today as it is their special day.

Naturally we need to make a card for them to go with their gifts and this then brings out the OMG what am I going to make? Masculine stamps are few and far between and unfortunately a few that were in our last mini catalogue were not carried over to our new main catalogue.

I have three cards to show you. This first one is for my Dad.

This one shows the stamp Sail A Way that was in the last mini. Now although it has not been carried over to the new catalogue it has not been retired yet - so I guess I can get away with it!!! The Jumbo Eyelet unfortunately has retired but I managed to get a little stash before they all sold out.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Sale A Way, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White, Marina Mist DSP
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Night of Navy
Other: 1/4" Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, Jumbo Eyelet, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice EF

This next card is for my Father in Law. My Hubby and I got married 20 years ago on Fathers Day. My Hubby is one of 4 boys and I remember when my FIL made his speech at the reception he said that he and my MIL had been without a daughter for the last 20 odd years but now they finally had one. So needless to say my FIL has a very special place in my heart.

I have used the much neglected set Pendant Park. I just love the tree and for some reason this set always drops to the bottom of the pile. I actually inked the tree up using three different greens and my trusty daubers (although it is a little difficult to tell!!)

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Pendant Park, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Always Artichoke, River Rock, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Garden Green
Other: 1/4" Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon, Jumbo Eyelet, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice EF

This last card is one that I made for my girls to give to their Daddy. Note I made this card at 7am this morning whilst my DH was having a sleep in!!!

Rather than using the Pennant Parade set I dragged out my Party This Way set for the banner. I did use my Petite Pennant Builder Punch to punch out the banner. An easier way of doing things than having to cut them out like I have done before!!!

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Party This Way
Paper: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point
Other: Hemp Twine, Petite Pennant Builder Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Top Note Die, Timeless Junior Alphabet Sizzlets, Movers & Shapers Punch Windows Star.

I am now going out for lunch with my sister and my Dad which will be great.

Hope you all have a great day.

Thanks for looking.
