Fabulous Florets

Hi everyone,

I haven't completed a challenge for a while so I thought I would have a go at the Stamping 411 one.

This is the sketch that they have for use to play with.

After looking at all the wonderful entries I thought I would bring out Fabulous Florets from our Summer Mini Catalogue. I just had to have it when it came out but sadly have used it only twice. I am hoping that I will use it more between now and the end of March.

This is my take on the sketch.

I decided I would add an extra mat just because I could. I have used the Rock n' Roll technique for the flowers using Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red. I fell in love with that colour combination from a DSP from last year. Often when I am trying to work out a colour combination I look at the colours that go with our DSP and that helps. I figure the experts have already worked it out for me - why not use it?

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Tiny Tags
Paper: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla
Ink: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie
Other: 1 3/8" Square Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch, Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Brad, Perfect Polka Dot TEF.

Thanks for looking.

Sprinkled Expressions meets Valentines Day

Hi everyone,

Once again I have been MIA. I am finding it difficult to find motivation to create at home at the moment. I have a whole heap of ideas running through my head and on paper but for some reason getting into my craft room isn't quite so easy.

Anyway here is a Valentines Day card that I made for DH. I can't take credit for it's design. My wonderful upline Marelle Taylor designed it and I shamelessly cased it from her. I would send you to the direct link on her blog but as yet she hasn't posted it. However click here to go and check out her blog and see why she is so good at what she does.

The card itself is self explanatory. I used Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler.

Thanks for looking.

Manly Man cards

Hi everyone,

Thought I would pop by and show you the masculine looking cards that my ladies are making in my Stamp A Stack classes this month.

Rather than focusing on a Stamp Set these cards have been designed to focus on the Well Worn DSP. It's funny as I have a phobia about cutting up DSP and as a result I have a stack of it left over from years gone by, but I am happy to say that with a deep breath I managed to cut.

The cool thing about these cards is that change the colours around and add different DSP and you can make a range of cards that are perfect for the ladies!!!

Whilst I remember, a blogging friend of mine is giving away some blog candy as it is 1 year since she started blogging. Please go and check out Margaret's Blog (Black Shadow Creations). She always has something lovely to look at.

Thanks for looking.

Spiced Paisely

Hi everyone,

Oh my I have been MIA. Maybe that is a good thing for you - maybe not. Anyway I thought I would show you a set of 4 cards that I have made using Spiced Paisley that is available in the Summer Mini. I knew I had to have this set as soon as I saw it but sadly it has taken me this long to actually play with it. The set co-ordinates beautifully with the Spiced Cake DSP which is absolutely gorgeous. However I thought I would try using different colours and this is what I came up with.

These cards have been made using one A4 sheet of Whisper White that has been stamped on randomly to create the back ground. I have then cut it up to make these cards. I still have a piece that is 10.5cm x 14.8cm so I can easily make at least another two cards.

These are 4 of the cards that are in my Stamp A Stack that is on this week. Please let me know if you would like to attend. There will be another 4 cards using the Well Worn DSP that is perfect for Male cards. So for just $25 (or $20 if you bring your own adhesive) you get to make 8 cards including envelopes and ribbons etc. Dates for this class are Wednesday 8th Feb - 7.30pm start, Thursday 9th Feb - 7.30pm start or Wednesday 15th Feb - 10.00am start.

Thanks for looking.

Perfect Punches and an update on First Day At School.

Hi everyone,

Well today DD5 started school. I am amazed to admit that I have only shed a couple of tears today about it, but the house feels very empty without her chatting away to me.

We took photos and I will scrap them (may take a while) but just in case you are wondering here she is with a very proud Mum.

Anyway onto a card that I made for the Sunny Challenges & Creations Blog. This week they have a sketch challenge along with needing to use Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso. You can use a neutral in there as well so I chose to use Very Vanilla.

Here is the sketch.

Here is the card that I made.

I couldn't help but add a little 'bling' to the centre of the the flowers. I keep forgetting that I have the Floral Fusion Sizzlits Die.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Perfect Punches
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Very Vanilla DSP, Early Espresso DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Big Shot, Floral Fusion Sizzlits Die, Finial Press TEF, Wide Oval Punch, TEF Designer Frame, Basic Rhinestone Gems.

Thanks for looking.

Pony Party for a Birthday Girl

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA. I am finding it a little difficult to find Mr Mojo. He has left the building and has decided he doesn't want to return. Makes it hard when I am trying to organise my classes for next month:-(.

I think one of the reasons Mr Mojo has gone is that he doesn't want to be around for the tears that are semi flowing at the moment and that will flow tomorrow. You see my DD5 starts school tomorrow and I won't have any little people at home any more:-(. I didn't think it would affect me the way it is. I hardly cried when DD7 went to school and just thought that would be the case with DD5 - but alas no.

DD5 is very lucky to have one of her good friends (Miss Elizabeth) from pre school going to the same school as her. Today it is Miss Elizabeth's Birthday and she is turning 5 just in time for school to start. We are popping over to her house after I pick DD7 for a small Birthday gathering so I had to make a card.

Here it is.

Pony Party is my go to set for little girls. If you look closely there is even some glitter on the mane and tail. What little girl doesn't like something with glitter?

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Pony Party
Paper: Melon Mambo, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Melon Mambo DSP, Wisteria Wonder DSP
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Wisteria Wonder, Melon Mambo
Other: Melon Mambo 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon, Big Shot, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet,1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Dimensionals.

Summer Splash

Hi everyone,

Firstly let me start by saying a big thank you to all who visited my blog yesterday for the ESAD Sale A Bration Blog hop. I have never had so many comments on my cards. Whilst I don't actually blog to get comments it is nice to know that someone out there in blog land is looking at what I make. So thank you.

I made this card today for the Stamping 411 sketch challenge. Unfortunately whilst it is Summer here and there is a lot of splash happening it has nothing to do with swimming or going to the beach. It is absolutely pouring here:(

I bought this set because I thought I could use it on several of my girls scrap pages. Needless to say I haven't done them yet but you never know I may get motivated one day.

Here is the sketch from Stamping 411.

Here is my take on it.

I stamped the surf board image in versamark and then have sprinkled Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo Embossing powder over the image and then heat set it with the heat tool. The sentiment is from Sunny Fun.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Summer Splash, Sunny Fun
Paper: Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi DSP
Ink: Versamar, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write Marker
Other: Circle Scissors Plus, Houndstooth TEF, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Whisper White Bakers Twine.

Thanks for looking.

ESAD Sale A Bration Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the ESAD Sale A Bration (SAB) Blog Hop. Today we have 23 very talented ladies sharing with you their ideas on how to use the 'free' product that you get during SAB. As demonstrators we get the chance to pre-purchase the items so that we can make up some cool projects for you to see what all the fuss and excitement is all about.

Now I hear you asking yourself what ESAD is.

Well... ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now you should have arrived here from the talented Sherylee Tutt. If not don't worry as this is a blog hop just click the link at the start or end of the blog posts and you will be taken all the way around. Don't forget to leave us a comment or two as you go as well. We like to hear if our projects have inspired you or not.

Now without any further ado here are some samples that I have made for you.

I have kept to cards this time around and for the first set of cards I have used the set Sprinkled Expressions. Rather than trying to describe the set why don't I show you the cards?

Rather than make them all the same I thought I would vary them slightly.

Here are some close ups of the individual cards.

This one is using the Heart image. I have used Melon Mambo and Soft Suede as my colour combination. The Heart image has been stamped onto scrap and then punched out using the 1  3/4" Circle Punch. I used the Polka Dot TEF to add a little extra to the square mats behind the circles. The ribbon is a piece of Whisper White Taffeta.

This card is a little more bright than I am used to making. I got the idea of this card from Dawn Olchefski.
The cool thing about this image is you can use it for almost anything - a congratulations card like this one or a birthday card. The colours I have used are Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise. The DSP is from Big Top Birthday. Once again I have used the 1 3/4" Circle Punch to punch out the image and have then mounted it onto the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. The 'tails' on the card are from the Petal Cone Die.

This card is using one of my favorite colour combinations Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder with a little bit of Lucky Limeade thrown in. I have used the Elegant Lines TEF to add some extra texture. I have used the Lace Ribbon Border Punch in Lucky Limeade to break up the Wisteria Wonder Background. The ribbon is the gorgeous Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon.

I then decided to make three more cards - this time using some of the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment DSP and the stamp Set Outlined Occasions.

The colours that go with the Everyday Enchantment DSP are Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Soft Suede. Just gorgeous.

I basically just cut up strips of the DSP (3.5cm wide) and stuck them to a piece of Whisper White and then ran them through the Big Shot with the Top Note die.

Here are close ups of the cards. I won't explain each card to you as they are pretty self explanatory.

You may have noticed the gorgeous brad on the first card and the Lucky Limeade Ribbon, well those are also part of SAB and are from the Everyday Enchantment and Ribbon Pack.

Well I hope you have liked looking at my projects. It is now time to hop on over to the very clever Alison Barclay.

Field Flowers meets Stamping 411

Hi everyone,

Just popping by to show you a card that I made for this weeks Stamping 411 sketch challenge. The sketch this week is a very easy one to play with - so if you have time why not have a go?

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

I finally mounted Field Flowers for this challenge. I have had this set since about October last year and sadly it wasn't even mounted, let alone inked up until today. I may have made mention I have a heap of Birthday cards to make so I decided to make it into a Birthday card.

If you look closely at the flowers you will notice that I have cut one of them out and then popped it up onto dimensionals for extra dimension. I also added some Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers using 2 Way glue.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Field Flowers, Petite Pairs
Paper: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Spice Cake DSP
Ink: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Other: 3/8" Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Designer Printed Brads, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals, 2 Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals.

Thanks for looking.

Simply Soft

Hi everyone,

Just a quick one from me today - and another bit of self promotion. These cards are the second set of cards in my Stamp A Stack this week. Click here if you want to see the other set.

I personally am very happy the way that these turned out and will make more. Note the sentiments I have used on these cards are not ones that have to be used. These sentiments are from the set Petite Pairs and there are heaps to choose from. Don't forget if you want to make these, but don't own the set or don't want to cut the cardstock, email me or call me (number in the side bar) to book in for class. Anyone who attends will also get a little gift from me as I am want to do every now and then for my Stamp A Stack attendees.

Thanks for looking.

Best of Everything for a challenge

Hi everyone,

I know I said I would show you the second lot of cards for my SAS  (Stamp A Stack) today but I wanted to show you a card that I made for another challenge. I am trying to get around to doing a few more than I did last year. This time I have stumbled across Create with Connie and Mary and this sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

The colour palate is from the Colour Coach and is Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso. Definitely not a colour palate I would normally go for but I think it kind of works.

Thanks for looking.

You are Loved

Hi everyone,

Just popping by for a little self promotion. Thought I would show you 4 of the cards that we will be making next week in my Stamp A Stack class. The set "You are Loved", which is in our current Summer Mini, is not just for Valentines Day. I have decided to stick to traditional colours used for Valentines Day though but I can see that they would look just as good using Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand.

Let me know if you would like to come to class on either Wednesday 18th or Thursday 19th January from 7.30pm. I do need to know numbers in advance so that I can pre-cut the cardstock for you.

I will show you the other 4 cards tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.

You are Loved meets Sunny Challenges & Creations

Hi everyone,

Yes I am back, two days in a row. DH went back to work today and thankfully my DD's haven't been fighting all day - so that is a plus. I managed to pop into my craft room for an hour or so to finish off a couple of cards.

The first one was made for the Sunny Challenges & Creations blog. I entered a couple of challenges last year with them but time got away and doing challenges was very low on my list. I am however going to endeavour  to do more challenges this year.

Here is a picture of the sketch.
The theme this time is Celebration of any kind. I have a heap of Birthday cards I have to make so I made mine into a Birthday card. Here it is:-

This time I brought out my Stampin' Write markers and coloured in the flower image from You are Loved. Yes that is Calypso Coral - one of the colours I have the most difficulty with.

Materials Used:
Stampin' Up!
Stamps: You are Loved, Short & Sweet
Paper: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write, Calypso Coral Stampin' Write, Pool Party Stampin' Write
Other: 3/8" Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
Non Stampin' Up!: Nestie Circles.

Now what is a girl to do when she has heaps of cards to make - that's right make another. Basically the same except turned around. Don't you just love the Ribbon? It is available during Sale A Bration in the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack.

Now why don't you think about making a card for this challenge blog?

Thanks for looking.

'Til next time,

Juliette

Yippee - finally time to have a play!!!

Hi everyone,

Well my craft room is now finally tidy (don't know how long it will stay that way). I do however definitely need some more storage space so hopefully that will happen in the not too distant future and I will have no excuse for making a mess.

Today I decided to have a play with the Stamping 411 sketch challenge. I like the concept of the card but not too sure about the execution. It may have something to do with the colours that I chose.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

I have used a set from the Summer Mini "You are Loved". It isn't a set I was particularly taken with when I first saw it but it has definitely grown on me. It is also a set that is not just for Valentines Day. There are a lot of possibilities with it.

I have seen this gorgeous heart coloured in using Stampin' Write markers. Now as much as I love doing that, I am one for instant gratification so decided to ink the image up using just Real Red. The sentiment is from Tiny Tags.

I think when I make this card again I may emboss resist it but I can't see me doing that in time to resubmit for this challenge.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: You are Loved, Tiny Tags
Paper: Sahara Sand, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Real Red DSP.
Ink: Real Red
Other: Perfect Polka Dots TEF, 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon,  Jewelry Tag Punch.

Thanks for looking.

'Til next time,

Juliette
