Googly Ghouls meets Sunny Challenges & Creations

Hi everyone,

It has been absolutely ages since I did any challenges so as I had a spare hour today I thought I would see if I could do the one over at Sunny Challenges & Creations. This week along with a sketch we had to include embossing of any kind - that means heat embossing or dry embossing. I managed to incorporate both into my entry.

Here is my take on it.

I used the new Houndstooth Textured Embossing Folder along the bottom and the little bats were heat embossed using clear EP. Don't you just love the little witches eyes? I am very happy to say that in our current Holiday catalogue we have these googly eyes!!!

Giant Craft Sale

Christmas in September - Part 2

Never mind that Christmas in Oz is normally in the mid to late 20's and even sometimes in the 30's!!! But this set is so damn cute.

It's Christmas in September part 1

Hi everyone,

Firstly thank you all who visited yesterday and checked out the ESAD Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop. I hope you found lots of fun items on it to inspire you. I know I certainly did.

Today is the first real day of school holidays so whilst the DD's are still in bed I thought I would pop by and show you the first set of cards for my Christmas Stamp A Stack this month - yes I am still running my classes during the holidays so if you want to come to class just contact me.

The first set of cards uses a new set, Chock Full of Cheer, that is in the main catalogue.

I promise you there is only a little bit of fussy cutting.

ESAD Holiday Mini Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

Yay! Here we are again with another blog hop brought to you by the very clever ladies at ESAD. This time we are going to hop through the Holiday  Catalogue. Oh my how much fun and cool stuff is there in this catalogue? I have to admit I think I have purchased far too much - but don't tell my DH!!!

Now as I mentioned the clever ladies at ESAD are bringing you this hop - so just in case you don't know who or what ESAD is here is a little bit of information.

Now you should have arrived at my blog from the very talented Michelle. If not don't worry. As this is a hop all you need to do is click on the links before and after the samples to go all the way around. There are 24 of us in this hop - so go and grab yourself a cuppa and sit back and enjoy. Oh and don't forget to leave us comments. Whilst we don't do this for the comments it is nice to know that someone has actually looked at what we have done.

Today I am going to show you a couple of Christmas decorations that I have made using our gorgeous Candlelight Christmas Designer Fabric.

Here is the first decoration.

My ladies actually made this decoration in class this week. I found instructions for this at All Things Stampy. Her instructions are really easy to follow. These decorations are really easy to make and I know that I will be making a heap over the coming months as this is what the girls have decided they want to give to their friends this year for Christmas. The hardest thing about this decoration is the preparation of the ball.























Here is the second decoration I made.

The instructions on how to make this one can be found over at Crafter without a Cat. Once again the instructions are really easy to follow. I think that the teachers may get these ones this year for their gift.
























Now no gift is complete unless you package it up nicely - right? So yes I made a box to pop this one in.

I have used the gorgeous Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP to decorate the box. The ornament window was made using the Holiday Ornaments Framelits. I decided that the top of the box looked a little bare so I had a go at making a paper bow.

Now I couldn't leave the blog hop without showing you a couple of cards I have made using the Merry Mini's stamp set and co-ordinating Merry Mini's Punch Pack. These cards are super quick and easy to mass produce.

Here is one made using just the punch pack - oh and of course the 1" square punch and postage stamp punch. I popped up the 1" whisper white squares using dimensionals and added a little bling by way of our basic rhinestone jewels. The sentiment is also from the holiday catalogue and is from Greetings of the Season.

This second card is pretty much the same except this time I have used the stamp set. As I said these are very quick and easy and definitely ones to mass produce.

Welcome 2012-2014 In Colours

Hi everyone,

I just realised that I haven't shown you the second set of cards that my ladies made this month in my Stamp A Stack. Now I shamelessly cased this idea from the fabulous Mary Fish and if you click here you will go to her post.

Here are the cards all together.

I will show you the cards individually for a change just so I can tell you the colours.

This card showcases Gumball Green. The middle butterfly on all of the cards is the In Colour. The top green is Wild Wasabi and the bottom green is Garden Green. Now if there is a green that screams Christmas green to me it is Gumball Green.

This one is Raspberry Ripple. The top colour is Riding Hood Red and the bottom one is Bravo Burgandy.

This is my least favorite of the new colours. Probably because I really am not a yellow kind of a girl. So the colour is Summer Starfruit. The top colour is Lucky Limeade and the bottom one is Daffodil Delight. As you can see Summer Starfruit has a sort of greenish tinge to it. I have a feeling I may come to like this colour as I know from experience when there is one I don't like initially I am always sad to see it go.

Primrose Petals is this one. Such a pretty dusky pink. The top pink is Pink Pirouette which is actually Primrose Petals dynamic duo! The bottom pink is Rose Red.

Last but not least here is Midnight Muse. Someone said and I can't remember who but Midnight Muse is the colour that Not Quite Navy (top) and Night of Navy (bottom) would have if they had a baby!!!

Mrs McGrath's Present

Hi everyone,

Today is the last day of term 3 and I have to say I am looking forward to the next two weeks of not having to race around in the morning organising my DD's for school.

Today also meant it was the last day for DD6's teacher. Mrs McGrath is having her first baby in about six weeks.

Naturally I had to make something for her. Here is the card. (Please forgive me for the fuzziness - I didn't realise how bad it was until I went to edit it just now and I honestly can't be bothered to make another one at the moment).

As you can tell from the colours used she has found out what she is having.

Here is the gift that I made.

Yep a crochet baby blanket. It took a lot longer than I thought it would and I don't know if I could be persuaded to go back and make another one, but it looks lovely. Don't you just love the ducks around the edge?

Today I only have the one project to show you - I know a bit unusual for me but it certainly took a bit of time to create. I love Christmas and I love counting down to Christmas - so when 25 & Counting was included in our catalogue naturally there was a bit of a squeal.

I wanted to design an Advent Calendar that looked a bit like a Christmas Tree so here she is in all her glory.

I needed to make sure that the "drawers" were big enough to hold a decent amount of chocolate.

Here is a close up of some "drawers".

As you can see, I decided to use the colours that are from the gorgeous Be of Good Cheer DSP, which are Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. Now Very Vanilla is great for stamping on, but is not particularly strong I substituted Naturals Ivory to make the Tree.

Betsy's Blossoms Stamp A Stack

Hi everyone,

Thought I would pop by and show you 4 of the cards that are in my Stamp A Stack class this week.

I have used Betsy's Blossoms - a set that I have grown to like despite not being too sure about it to begin with.

The triple layer stamping looks really effective. Yes I do have some retired product on these cards but that is only because when I made the cards I didn't have the new Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

Blooming with Kindness

Hi everyone,

It has been a lovely week here. Temps are in the high 20's and there is a definite feel of Summer rather than Spring. I hope Mother Nature doesn't do what she normally does and tease us some gorgeous weather only to turn nasty and cold on us again. I am quite enjoying wearing T-shirts rather than jumpers. Haven't quite got to the 3/4 length jeans yet but you never know.

The card I am showing you today is one that I made for a shoebox swap for a weekend Stamp Camp I went to. Unfortunately I was only there for the one day but I had a blast.

A rather simple card as not everyone who went stamps regularly. I thought I would challenge them to emboss resist. The gorgeous new pink is Primrose Petals - one of our new Incolours. I do plan to come back later in the week to introduce you to the new Incolours if you haven't met them yet.

The stamp set is a new one in the main catalogue - Blooming with Kindness. It has gorgeous sentiments to go with the gorgeous flower.

It seemed like a good idea at the time!!!!

Hi everyone,

Just a bit of background behind the title of this post. I am the convenor of parents group for the school that my DD's go to. The parents group is active in organising the Mothers Day and Fathers Day stalls, along with a few other things that I am sure you will hear of a bit later this year if you come back and read my blog.

Well Fathers Day is today (just in case you either forgot or are visiting from another country who doesn't celebrate it on the 1st Sunday in September). After organising and wrapping all the gifts (665 of them), I decided it would be nice for all the kids at school to get a hand made card too. Not all kids purchase gifts from the Fathers Day stall and some of them often look upset when they walk away empty handed, so hence the reason for making the cards. We have nearly 700 kids at school so I made just over 700 cards. So as I said in the title "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Here are the cards that I made. Unfortunately due to timing I wasn't able get a picture of the piles of cards.

I know not all of the images are current ones and yes, shock horror,  on 30 of the cards I did use a non SU! embossing folder but I think you might forgive me this time.

I made 90 of each card using different colours. Yes I did cut out all of the ties on the tie card. I haven't worked out the math but there was a lot of cutting involved (ties, cars, sails, balloons) and a lot of Stamp-a-ma-jigging but as I have said to the teachers it is something I do, and enjoy doing it. I also popped my stamp on the back of the cards so I may get some interest - you never know.

Anyway I am off to cook DH his bacon and eggs for breakfast. Hope you have a great day.
