Fabulous Florets meets The Paper Players

Hi everyone,

I found another challenge blog out there called The Paper Players - now for some of you, you already know them but I have only just stumbled across them while Blurfing recently.

I have manged to sneak in with this weeks sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

I decided to use the gorgeous set Fabulous Florets that is in our Summer Mini (due to finish tomorrow 31st March). I do love this set and have not used it enough. Another one that I am hoping will make it into the main catalogue later this year. I actually cut out the flowers and popped them onto dimensionals. The sentiment is from another set in the summer mini called Topsy-Turvy Celebration A fun set that can work for boys or girls. I am hoping to show you a couple of cards tomorrow made with that set.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Topsy-Turvy Celebration
Paper: Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi
Other: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Rose Red Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals.

Thanks for looking.

Spiced Paisley meets Freshly Made Sketches

Hi everyone,

To say that I haven't had any inspiration lately is an understatement!!! I had all these wonderful ideas to be months in advance of designing for my classes and to have a heap of samples for you to look at from the current mini catalogue that is due to come to an end at the end of this month. Not to mention SAB that is coming to an end as well. Unfortunately non of that has happened and I am finding myself coming to the end of the month and wondering what I have done with it.

I happened across the Freshly Made Sketches blog the other day and thought I really must have a go. Where better to start than with a sketch? Sadly I have not done the sketch any justice but here it is anyway.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my card.

I have used Spiced Paisley and the Spiced Cake DSP for this card. Both of these are in the current Summer mini catalogue which ends on the 31st March. I hope that the stamp set will go into the new Idea Book & Catalogue but you never can tell, so if you like the stamp set now is a good time to purchase it. Sadly not quite what I was going for but oh well you should show the good and the bad.

Thanks for looking.

Create A Cupcake meets Mojo Monday

Hi everyone,

Wow has it been that long since I last blogged? So very busy around here at the moment. I never seem to be home. I thought that once I had both girls at school then I would have some more time for me - but no. I seem to be at the school helping out in one way or another. I joked with the ladies in the office the other day that they will need to set a bed up for me.

Anyway enough about that. Today DD7 is going to a birthday party so naturally I had to make a card. I really need to stock up on my stash of cards that are suitable for children.

I decided I would use the layout from Mojo Monday for my card today.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

I was told that the Birthday girl likes pink and purple so there you are.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Create Cupcake
Paper: Melon Mambo, Wisteria Wonder, Flirtatious Specialty DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo, Wisteria Wonder
Other: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch, 3/8" Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals.

I am now going to go and make another one whilst I have all the supplies out on my desk - so then at least I will have one card waiting for the next birthday party.

Thanks for looking.

Happy 100th Birthday Nanna

Hi everyone,

Today it is my DH's, Nanna's 100th Birthday. Yep you read the correct. 100!!! That is absolutely awesome.

When you think about all the things that she has seen in her lifetime it just astounds you. 100 summers, 100 winters, 2 Great Wars, a horrible depression, air travel become the common way of getting around the globe rather than see travel, the building and opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge - just to mention a few.

Here is the card that I made her. A shameless CASE from Kerry Bunting (why mess with perfection if you don't need to?)

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Fresh Vintage (SAB 2012)
Paper: Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink: All Stampin' Write Markers - Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade
Other: 3/8" Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Brad from SAB pack, Wide Oval Punch, Big Shot, Designer Frames, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlets.

Thanks for looking.

Easter Baskets

Hi everyone,

Just popping by to show you my class for this week. This week we are making Easter Baskets using a variety of Stampin' Up! exclusive Big Shot dies. Now I would love to take credit for these lovely ideas but as is usual in the paper craft community - someone has already thought to do it. I thank those lovely people who think outside of the box and then share their wonderful ideas with the rest of us.

In my class you will get to make the Scallop Envelope Die basket, the Milk Carton Die Basket and one of the Fancy Favor/Top Note Die Bunny Baskets.

Cost of the class is $20 and I do include some eggs for you to pop into your baskets. I still have a couple of spaces available for tomorrow night and more spaces on Thursday night - so if you are in the Hills District and would like to learn how to make these cute baskets then just contact me to book your spot.

Thanks for looking.

Fresh Vintage meets Sunny Challenges & Creations

Hi everyone,

Had a little bit of time to play this weekend, although if anyone can please find Mr Mojo I desperately need him to come home. I have spent a good amount of my time sitting at my desk and looking at my cardstock, stamps and ink and saying to myself I have no idea what to do. I even have new product from the up coming Autumn-Winter Mini catalogue and still no inspiration.

I decided to have ago at a challenge or two and today marks the first day for the Sunny Challenges & Creations weekly challenge. The challenge this week is a sketch challenge combined with the chalkboard technique.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my attempt.

I decided to turn the sketch on its side as there is nothing that says it has to be exactly the same right? The ruffled ribbon border was inspired by Libbys (will link back to her blog when it goes live) card. I was just going to have a scallop border but thought the ruffled seam binding would look better.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Fresh Vintage
Paper: Rose Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Marina Mist DSP
Ink: Whisper White Craft
Other: Big Shot, Ovals Die, Stampin' Pastels, uni-ball Signo Gel Pen, Rose Red Seam Binding.

Thanks for looking.

Flower Fest

Hi everyone,

Thought I would pop by and show you the second set of cards that we are making in my Stamp A Stack class this month- dates and times and prices are show in my side bar to the right. I still have spaces available so contact me if you would like to book your spot.

I thought I would go for a more feminine set of cards compared to the masculine ones I show yesterday. The set used is Flower Fest and the really cool thing is that this set co-ordinates with a lot of our punches. Yes there is some fussy cutting on these cards but you really don't need to do too much if you don't want to.

Thanks for looking.

The Open Sea

Hi everyone,

Thought I would pop by to show you one of the set of cards that we are making in my Stamp A Stack this week - dates and times and prices are show in my side bar to the right. I still have some spaces left so contact me if you would like to attend.

The stamp set used is The Open Sea that is currently available in our Summer Mini (but only until the 31st March). I have teamed it with the Nautical Expedition DSP, Bakers Twine and some Antique Brads. This set is perfect for those male cards that we all need to have but have difficulty making.

Thanks for looking,

Topsy-Turvy Celebration

Hi everyone,

I can't believe the sun is out today and there is actually some blue sky. Shhh... Don't tell anyone, I may actually get back up to date with my washing.

Yesterday, the daughter of a lovely friend of mine turned 8. DD7 was invited to her party so naturally I had to make a card. I received Topsy-Turvy Celebration free from Stampin' Up! and despite the fact that I love this set I hadn't inked it up.

My card is by no means an original and I apologise but I can't remember who I CASEd it from. If  you know, or you are the person please let me know so that I can update my blog with a link.

Isn't it bright and cheerful? Don't forget the bling. What little girl doesn't like bling?

In case you are wondering the mat behind the Modern Label has been created using the Sizzix Magnetic Movers & Shapers Punch Windows. I have to say I am pretty slack when it come to using the Movers & Shapers for it's "real" use as it creates a card that is a different size to the standard Australian sized card. It is however awesome for cutting mats for a range of different punch shapes.

Materials Used: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Topsy-Turvy Celebration
Paper: Melon Mambo, Concord Crush, Whisper White, Cheerful Treat DSP
Ink: Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade, Concord Crush, Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Marker
Other: Modern Label Punch, Scallop Trim Boarder Punch, Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die, Movers & Shapers Punch Windows, 1/8" Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon (SAB Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack), Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Dimensionals.

Thanks for looking.

'Til next time,

Juliette
